This avocado spread in the Mediterranean style is absolutely addictive! I warned you. You’ll have this ready in 5 minutes and yet it is so good! If you don’t have any pomegranate molasses where you live balsamic vinegar will do the trick as well – especially one with texture. To create texture with a liquid vinegar you can simply combine a bit of avocado with a teaspoon of vinegar.

Pomegranate molasses has very rich, balanced and concentrated acidity. Together with the phlegmatic character of the avocado they complement each other absolutely beautifully. Try this recipe with Vegan Sourdough Pancakes or simply bread.

I love to have this spread along with savoury pancakes or bread or some roughly chopped veggies, perhaps some pickles, olives and tahini & molasses.

  • 1 avocado
  • 1 clove of garlic pressed or diced
  • 1 good pinch each salt, pepper, cumin, sumac
  • 1 ½ tbsp pomegranate molasses or balsamic vinegar, preferably with texture


  • Combine all the ingredients, except the pomegranate molasses. Top with the molasses. Enjoy!
