After dipping in once, it will be hard to stop. But that’s alright having ingredients like this.
I like to remove some of the liquid and use it elsewhere.
If you like flavorful veggie spreads with healthy ingredients only, muhammara is for you!

Mixing the walnuts with the bell pepper in the mentioned relations in the recipe creates a wonderful balance between being satisfying and grounding, and fresh and invigorating.
As with many foods nowadays, making your own will be far more delicious than the ones you might find in a grocery store. And why not make it in batches? You can make some for 3 weeks for example and freeze two of them to make the best use of your time.
It is often served along hummus and baba ganoush.

Serves 4. Preparation time: 5 min.

  • 400 g red bell peppers
  • 5-6 garlic cloves
  • 60 g walnuts
  • 1/2 dried tomato
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground coriander
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • 2 tbsp tahini
  • 2 tbsp pomegranate molasses (or balsamic vinegar with something sweet)

Put all ingredients into the blender and blend until it has the texture of your preference.
